Take another TA in your body and live your life as a "yearning day"
The sun always comes after the wind and rain, please believe in the rainbow – the life in the lyrics is always full of hope, but will the reality be? Looking back on the days of waiting for a kidney transplant, Guohua said that he has also been shaken. However, as optimistic as he is, he finally turned life into a "yearning day"…

At that moment, the whole person was stunned
This year is the tenth year after Guohua’s kidney transplant. In the eyes of others, he is a "big boy" who loves outdoor sports and a "brother Hua" who is passionate about life. Only those who are familiar with him know what he has experienced.
Back in April 2007, Guohua always felt dizzy and his blood pressure was very high. A doctor friend who worked out with him suggested that it was best to go to the nephrology department for a checkup. Unexpectedly, he was diagnosed with uremia after this checkup. The doctor told him that the damage to his kidneys was irreversible and that a kidney transplant was the only way to cure him, but he didn’t know when he would be able to wait for a donor kidney. During this period, he could only rely on hemodialysis to maintain his life.
"At that time, my son had just started kindergarten, and I was in my early thirties. I drove a taxi for a living, and I had to pay off the mortgage every month. At that moment, the whole person was confused." Thinking back to the beginning, Guohua still felt very emotional. Whether it was hemodialysis or kidney transplantation, it was an unbearable financial burden for this small family.
In order to save money, Guohua began to look for various folk remedies, but fate seemed to be joking with him.
In the second half of 2008, Guohua’s condition deteriorated further, and one day he suddenly lost consciousness. Fortunately, he woke up in time. Since then, he can only rely on hemodialysis three times a week for five hours each time to survive, and his daily water intake can only be controlled within 150 milliliters.
"After every dialysis, my body felt like it was hollowed out, and I was very weak." Guohua said that the belief that supported him during that time was his son, and he didn’t want his son to be without support. It turned out that once his son came home and said that a classmate’s father had passed away, and he could only rely on his grandparents for survival. Not only did he live in poverty, but his classmates also became silent and his personality was not as cheerful as before.
The speaker had no heart, but the listener had heart. That night, Guohua twisted and turned and couldn’t sleep. He thought a lot, but no matter what, the belief to live outweighed everything.

More than seven years of waiting
In order to match the right kidney, Guohua first class has been more than 7 years. During this period, for treatment, they owe a lot of money, and they also sold their only house. The family moved to the countryside to live on odd jobs.
In September 2014, news came from the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine that a suitable kidney had been matched through the Chinese Human Organ Distribution and Sharing Computer System. "It’s like a life-saving straw, but our financial pressure is also greater." Guo Hua said that with money borrowed from relatives and friends and a difficult subsidy given by his jurisdiction after learning about his situation, he completed the kidney transplant as he wished.
The most important thing is that he no longer has to go on dialysis three times a week, and he can drink water like a normal person and continue to work. However, after a kidney transplant, he still needs to take anti-rejection drugs for a long time. Fortunately, there is no way out. A familiar uremic patient told him that the Huzhou International Committee of the Red Cross has a fraternity fund project to help kidney transplant patients in financial difficulties.
"I tried it at that time, but I didn’t expect it to work." Guohua said that after the staff of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Huzhou City learned about the situation, they added him to the list of grants. It didn’t take long to receive 30,000 yuan from the International Committee of the Red Cross of Huzhou City "Yongxing Material Fraternity Fund", which solved his urgent needs. It is with the kindness from the society and the people around him that Guohua has always maintained a full enthusiasm for life.
A year later, Guohua’s health is basically normal, and he continues to work as a taxi driver before he fell ill.
At work, Guohua did not allow himself to be taken care of. In life, he lived a different wonderful life with another TA in his body. He became a member of the volunteer service team of party members of the Lianzhong Taxi Service Center. During the epidemic, he and his colleagues donned protective clothing and went to the community and highway card points to help deliver nucleic acid samples. Over the years, he has also often participated in social welfare activities such as the transfer of college entrance examination students and the humane care of human organ donor families.
He said he hoped he would also have the opportunity to help others.

As long as you keep moving forward, you can always cross
Over the years of illness, Guohua feels that the most indebted person is his son, because a series of effects brought about by economic pressure have made him more independent and mature than his peers. "When he was 17 years old, he bought me a watch with the money he earned as a birthday gift, and I have kept it." Guohua said that his son is his spiritual pillar, which makes him want to become a better person and spend more time with him.
"I hope that what he sees is my strength and optimism after illness, rather than the negative impact." He said that he has seen many patients become depressed because of illness, lose hope in life, and make himself and his family feel overwhelmed. "Sometimes what overwhelms us is not necessarily the disease. When the body is sick, we can’t let the mind also get sick." He said that some people will feel that when they are sick, they can’t do anything, and they are unwilling to try anything and challenge anything, but he will not.
On Guohua’s mobile phone, there were photos of playing outdoor sports with friends, delicious food, and scenery… That was the simplest yearning for a better life.
He said that playing outdoors is actually something he has always wanted to do. However, he didn’t have time before he got sick, and after he got sick, he didn’t have the energy. So after the kidney transplant, he regarded the outdoors as exercise and loved it even more.
"Life is actually like playing outdoors. Those bad things are like the mud under your feet and the destination you can’t see the end of, but as long as you keep moving forward, you can always cross it." He said that every time he walked on the mountain trail with everyone, to explore those unknown trails and discover the beautiful scenery that is inaccessible… The mood becomes very good, and good things may follow.
He laughed and said, for example, because I met a lot of friends by playing outdoors, my current job is introduced by my friends, and my income is more stable than when I was a taxi driver.
Optimistic and positive like him, he always sees the best side of things and strives to live life as a "yearning day".
